Macmillan Coffee Morning
Last Thursday, one of our dedicated Hazelmont team members visited West Midlands House for a Coffee Morning fundraiser in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, a great cause offering specialist health care and information to those affected by cancer.
We managed to enter a freshly baked treat of our own into the 'Bake Off' to join in with the mornings proceedings, which would then later go on to be taste tested and judged by anyone dontating throughout the morning.
With cakes ranging from the Chocolate Cake to the ever popular Victoria Sponge, the level of competition was high and it is safe to say we were truly astounded by the effort put into each cake and baked good, to the point that impressed would be an understatement.
Within the two hours the Event was being run, there was a great turn out of people entering the room, with a lot of happy faces wandering around with mugs of coffee or tea and a slice or two of cake in their hands. A truly wonderful sight, seeing people coming together, taking time out of their working day to support and be part of the morning to help raise funds and awareness.
Although, yes, we didn't end up winning the 'Bake Off', those who did were worthy winners, with their Tiramisu and Victoria Sponge Cake. They were delicious.
The morning was a success, enjoyable and well worth the extra pound we put on just by being there. Bring on next year!
